Joined Agent Axiom this month. Check the schedule for upcoming shows. I don't have much time to keep the news section of the website going. I might just use it to keep a chronological record of significant events - like this!

July 25th 2006

It's been a long time since I entered any news. A lot has happened over the past year! The Vinyl Highway Band broke up after a very successful show in Antioch last July. After the band broke up some of the VH musicians (including me) tried to get something going but that didn't work out.

All along I've been working in the studio recording drum tracks for the Three Machine band www.threemachine.com. They are a good band and I wish them well and look forward to more studio work with them.

In June I joined a blues band called John Juul and Friends www.johnjuul.com. This band is easy going and they play great blues. Be sure to check the show schedule and come see us! Sample the audio tracks taken from the Highwood Summer Days festival 2006.

July 1st 2005

Just returned from a wonderful vacation at Grand Canyon N.P. Arizona. Now I have to prepare for our July 3rd Vinyl Highway show in Cicero Illinois. The weather looks good and I think the band will put on a great show.

March 20th 2005

Getting ready for our next gig at Hedgehogs. This will be the 3rd time playing at this venue over the last 6 months. I'm looking forward to playing somewhere different.

On another note; I am now be taking lessons from Paul Wertico. He is known for his work with the Pat Metheny Group during the '80s and '90s. This is a great opportunity for me to take my drumming talents to the next level.

February 2004

Joined a new band called Vinyl Highway. We feature covers from the '60s and '70s. Our goal is to have fun playing tunes that were popular when we were growing up.

Been auditioning bass players with no luck so far. I bought myself a Korg D1200 digital recorder for Christmas so we can now make decent recordings of the band. I recorded that last audition and even though that bass player didn't work out we sounded more like a full band. We'll keep looking.

September 17th, 2002

Competed in the first round of the Guitar Center Drum-Off competition. I did well and will advance to the store final. I wrote a drum song called "Cycles" for this competition. I will think of something different for the next competition Oct. 15th.

July 28th, 2002

Pete and I decided to focus on cover songs from Journey, Kansas, Styx, Boston, ELP, SRV, Genesis to name a few. We'll be needing a capable bassist and guitarist plus a singer. People that think like us who are in their 30's or 40's with careers. (I'm in my 40's but don't worry, my playing is still intense!)

July 5th, 2002

My new web site with sound clips finally goes online.

July 4th, 2002

Bought my kids guitars today. I think I finally have them interested in playing music...not just listening to it. Yeah!

June 18th, 2002

A couple weeks ago I discovered that the carpenter who is working on my house is really a musician. Jason plays drums, guitar and I think he said bass too. I gave him a CD of some old originals from Hijinx. The next day he tells me that he knows the singer. So after I'm caught up with what Tracy's been doing I tell him that I use to play in a band called Episode with Mike Batio (aka Michael Angelo Batio). Small world.
